I love that small brick and mortar shops as well as online shops are wanting to offer products from handmade businesses. As a handmade shop owner, I thought it might be helpful to let people know where/how to go about asking about wholesale options. Most makers prefer not to offer wholesale options on large 3rd party platforms (Etsy, Amazon, Ebay) as the fee that they incur is then in addition to a wholesale discount which often leaves the maker with little to no profit to put back into their business. As a seller on these platforms it is impossible to support a business and offer a deep discount on handmade products. Additionally, it takes lots of time to make large orders, so it does detract from the orders one could be selling at full retail price. That said I do think it is important to try to offer an option to those that would like to carry handmade products in their store. Please understand that a shop that hand makes all of their products may not be able to offer super deep discounts. 

Most handmade artists have a personal website in addition to the large 3rd party options, so it is great to do a little googling if you find someone on Etsy or Amazon Handmade that you really like and would like to offer to your customers. That way the maker can offer you the best price on bulk items. If you can't find a website, it is super helpful to leave a direct email in any messages that you may send on the 3rd party platforms. That way the maker can contact you directly and not get in big trouble for initiating a sale off of the sales platform.
